Advocacy for good causes involves the promotion of solutions to important problems. Examples of advocacy careers include working in politics or journalism, or becoming a manager or a grantmaker at an influential organization.

According to 80,000 Hours, advocacy can be a particularly effective way to make the world a better place, because it is scalable, relatively neglected, and less competitive than many other career approaches (especially earning to give).
