Personal fit is “your chance of excelling at a job, if you work at it.” (80,000 Hours 2016). Because the top workers in a job often have several times more impact than the average worker, finding a job with a high degree of personal fit may allow people to increase their impact dramatically.

It is often difficult for people to work out what they are good at in the abstract. Instead, 80,000 Hours advise individuals to gain more information by trying lots of different things and determining which of these activities they are best at.
